A Brighter Downtown -- as more of the vintage style street light fixtures are installed (these on the south side of Main between 11th & 12th) the night time view downtown is remarkably bright compared to the past few months. The old downtown lights were not repaired after the December 2007 ice storm as they were slated for removal in the streetscape project that started in March 2008. (Previous Coverage)
Adding To The Collection -- The Collinsville Library still needs your paper for their recycling challenge. Save a tree & help the Library. (Previous Coverage)
Nice Trend Recently
I haven't covered gas prices in awhile as I was waiting to see if they would hit $4 per gallon here earlier in the summer. I recall about $3.89 then but the prices have been dropping since then and were $3.49 per gallon yesterday (August 12, 2008) for regular unleaded.
(Previous coverage at $3.79 May 26, 2008)
