Junior High & Varsity Dual Wins Over Inola Here Monday

Wrestlers Start Season
By Beating Bristow and Sperry
The Jr High and Varsity wrestling teams won 2 duals each Tuesday night
CHS varsity beat Class 2A 8th ranked Sperry 43-27 and then upset Class
3A 5th ranked Bristow 37-36. The Cardinals trailed the Purple Pirates
36-25 with 2 matches left in the dual. Michael Pitts got a fall at
160 lbs to close the gap to 36-31. At 171 lbs Collinsville sent newcomer
Michael Maul (Maul moved to Collinsville from Perkins) to the mat
to secure the win. Maul took his opponet down, ran a chicken wing
bar arm and got the fall in :58. It was a good start for the Cardinals
who hope to use this momentum to secure many more wins this season.
The Jr High wrestlers trounced Sperry 60-6 and then beat Bristow 48-15.
The Jr High Cardinals will travel to Oologah this weekend for a tournament
and both teams will be in action Tuesday the 11th of December as they
host Inola at the Middle School Gym.

At Cleveland Tournament
Jr High Wrestling team placed 10 wrestlers at the Cleveland invitaitonal
this past weekend. The Cardinals finished 3rd as a team behind Champion
Berryhill and Runner-up Union. Placing for the Cardinals were Justin Brown
5th, Levi McHenry 5th, Jake Graham 2nd, Conner Nair 1st, DevinHawkins
6th, Newt Salisbury 4th, Josh Pennington 1st, Shane Douglas 3rd, Tyler
Tabor 2nd, and Colby Phillips 3rd. The Cardinals will travel to Bristow

Wrestlers Beat Inola
The Collinsville Jr High and Varsity Wrestlers won duals against Inola
Monday in a make up match that was originally shedualed for last Tuesday.
The Jr High won 42-24. Winning for the Jr High were Dylan Helm,
Isaac Dyer, Newt Salisbury, Josh Pennington, Shane Douglas, Tyler Taber.
The Varsity ran their season record to 3-0 with a 41-19 spanking
of the Longhorns. Winning for the Cardinals were Colt Morgan, Arron Ramsey,
Josh Loftin, Jayce Crowder, Michael Pitts, Michael Maul, and Dalton Salisbury.

pin or be pinned with no match being decided by points and only the first
match reaching the 3rd period. Collinsville's JrHi won 42-24.

Varsity won 41-29.

Morgans appeared to get a shoulder adjustment during the 135 pound varsity match.

Nair appeared to have the advantage in this photo but lost at 126 during the
Douglas pinned his 152lb JrHi opponent
Tabor before pinning his 165 JrHi Inola opponent in front of the Collinsville
bench. The referee was Greg Peak, a former Collinsvillle wrestler.
