Crimson Cadets Start New Season
Ron Lewis (above) is the new director of the Collinsville Crimson Cadet Band. Ron said he is "excited to be here" and will "need to work on numbers first." He said the early count shows only about 48 kids in band so far (grades 7-12). He would like to increase those numbers each year. Ron came here from Bartlesville, but said he had a similar program at Muldrow and grew that band from about 60 up to 100 over a few years. He said he would start a jazz band and have them perform at basketball games to increase band visibility. Summer band officially kicked off today but many members have been at it for weeks already. See the band's page on the school web site for more info on this year's marching program. Ron will be assisted by Heath Miller who in his second year with the band.
