COLLINSVILLE TRI-COUNTY FAIR

Many northeastern Oklahoma 4-H and FFA members will be bringing their prize livestock to compete for ribbons and premium money at the upcoming Tri-County Fair in downtown Collinsville, August 25-27th. Approximately 200 4-H and FFA youth from 33 Oklahoma communities exhibited livestock last year. Our local Fair is a great opportunity for first time exhibitors to gain valuable experience in the show ring as they prepare for the larger fall competitions. Make plans to visit the newly renovated American Legion building on Saturday, 9-4 p.m., as craft vendors will be set up for the entire day. Vendor space is available by contacting Kristi at bushyheadracer@yahoo.com.

Thursday evening the Dog Show will be taking place in the livestock arena with entries being accepted at 6 p.m. and show time around 7 p.m. More information is available on cvilleok.com.

All livestock shows take place in the fair barn arena (10th & Center) and schedules include: Friday/Aug 26, Junior Swine Show, 7 p.m.

Saturday/Aug 27 four shows are scheduled: Rabbit Show begins at 8:30 a.m. (entries accepted 7-8 a.m.) in the southwest corner of the barn. Beef Show is approximately 8:30 a.m. and the Sheep Show is scheduled around 1 p.m. Meat Goat Show will follow the Sheep Show at approximately 5 p.m. Check out cvilleok.com for all show details, rules and regulations.

The 4-H and FFA tractor driving contest will be Saturday, 9 a.m. in front of T & S Plumbing (on Main Street east of railroad tracks). Fair exhibitors and attendees are encouraged to support the Collinsville FFA Alumni as they will be in charge of the fair barn concession stand during all livestock events. Fair t-shirts will be for sale in the American Legion building on Saturday. At present, the shirts are available at The Feed Store, 13810 N 113th E Ave, Collinsville.

A big ‘thank you’ to this year’s contributors: RCBank, American Bank of Oklahoma, Masonic Lodge #165, Brown Sod Farm, Darling International, Dr Mike Alexander, Schultheiss Insurance, The Feed Store, James Roderick, Eastside Veterinary Hospital, Sonic, Steve Branen Family, City of Collinsville, Rogers County Fair Board, Tim Sills and the Worstell Family. We appreciate the efforts of 4-H and FFA youth and instructors, both local and from surrounding communities, as they give of their time to set up the fair barn for this annual event.

An indoor crafts will be held on Saturday, August 27th. We still have 1 or 2 booths available and I will attach the form. Plus I am attaching the art for this year’s t-shirts. They will be for sale at the fair and were printed in Collinsville by Bigfoot Prints.
