2.Spring Bond Issue information was provided by Stephen L. Smith Corp. Mr Smith has been exploring options for Collinsville school funding over the next few years and presented some of those options to the school board for their consideration. Mr. Smith recommended taking advantage of the current low interest rates by accelerating new bonds and refinancing old bonds. He indicated that this would put more (future) money into the front end of new projects (i.e. anticipated improvements at the middle school and high school next year). Superintent Pat. Herald said that he and Mr. Creech had been meeting with the architect on those projects. Mr. Herald indicated there would likely be a special board meeting (in late October or November) to work out more details on the upcoming bond issue election with a possible public vote in February or March of 2004.

3. The board approved the Activity Fund-raisers and the (un-changed from last year) plan for the Gifted and Talented Education Program.

4) The board accepted 4 resignations and approved several support personnel hirings that were not listed for non-board members at the meeting. Of the hirings, only one was a new part-time position for Special Ed, with the others being replacment hirings.

5) The board went into executive session to discuss "Negotiations for Certified Personnel and Support Personnel".

. (Results voted on after executive session are not yet reported ... as I had left for the City Commission meeting already in progress.)
