Staci West (left) has been named to Oklahoma's All-State Volleyball squad. Chasidy 'Biscuit' Austin was named to Oklahoma's All-State Softball squad.
Football Coach Rusty Poindexter (and a few of his seniors) reflect on what a "clean" bunch of kids they are ... as well as a "successful season" despite their 2-8 record.
[Cvilleok.com Editorial: I'll second that by saying it was a "remarkable season" for a team that always made you think they could find a way to win ... regardless of who they were playing or what the score was. And they made it entertaining until the last play every week even if they did come up a bit short on the scoreboard a few times.] -- Ted
Members of the 2003 Lady Cardinals Varsity Volleyball team were honored for their 3rd place finish at the State Tournament and a 28-10 record. Kristina Hoffman and Brandy Moyers were announced as
All-State alternates. Third year Head Coach Art Smalyago and Coach Ogden made the presentations.
Lady Cardinal Varsity Softball teams have won 128 games in the last 4 years under Coach Stan Irvine. The 2003 team above had 31 wins this year and their only loss in the State Tournament was by 1 run to the eventual state champs. Taylor Whisenhunt and Randon Powell were named to the All Conference team with several other honorable mentions (Chasidy Austin, Jessica Colpitt, Erica Holly, Lindsey Schultheiss and Whitney Whisenhunt). Tulsa 7 Conference Pitcher of the Year was Kelli Dunagan who threw 5 no hitters and had 4 perfect games (no base runners) this season.
The Varsity Cheerleaders were introduced and thanked for their many contributions to the football program this season.
The C.H.S. Varsity Football team just completed their season Friday night. They will likely not win many conference honors and their record alone does not sound impressive ... but their hard work and determination was much appreciated by the coaches and fans.
Also honored were:
Undefeated Freshman Volleyball Team with
12-0 record
JV Volleyballl Team 11-3
Freshman Football Team
Coach Slagle's Hogs
An organizaion of lineman who perform community service
