Mike Tinker, Collinsville City Manager, presented Vision 2025 information, Monday, Aug. 25th, to a small group that attended the first of four scheduled community informational meets. Tinker also presented preliminary plans for the renovation of Collinsville's City Hall building which would be funded by Proposition 4 of the proposed sales tax increase. In addition to the drawing (shown on the right), the preliminary floor plan drawings were shown.
The proposed first floor would have a 32x50 foot meeting room in the front where the fire trucks (and horses) had been since the building was first completed in 1913. The remainder of the first and second floors would have a variety of smaller meeting rooms and city offices.
The Collinsville City Commission has come out in favor of all four parts of the issue to be voted on September 9th. Proposition 4 would provide $2.3 million for Collinsville's City Hall / Community Center. Proposition 3 would provide funding to the Collinsville Schools for instructional materials.
Collinsville's current
sales tax rate is 7.917 cents per dollar. If approved by voters, the propositions
would add the following amounts:
Prop #1: .400 cent (Boeing)
Prop #2: .025 cent (American)
Prop #3: .400 cent
Prop #4: .175 cent
