4-H At Sperry Swine Show
Local Students In Sperry 4-H Program
Sperry 4-H brought their A game this past Saturday February 23rd at Sperry Invitational Swine Show.

Collinsville 9th grade student Kelsie Thomas placed 2nd in Class 1 Duroc. Kelsie is a first year shower and got Vinnie this past November as her main project area. Serving as reporter in the club Kelsie says “showing livestock has given me the experience to see the entire process of farm to plate.”

Younger brother and 8th grader Jake Thomas placed 3rd in Class 1 Hereford with his pig Jo Jo. When asked what he liked about his show experience he says “It’s all good - I’m hooked!”

Another 8th grade Collinsville student Braden Robbins places 1st in Class 1 Duroc with his pig Timex. 1st in Class 2 Hereford as well as Reserve Breed with hog Rolex and 5th in Class 5 Cross. Braden says “along with showing livestock 4-H has given me opportunities to compete in other competitions like welding, cooking and speaking.”

Their next show will be this Friday March 1st at the Tulsa County Spring Livestock Show then the final show at OYE in Oklahoma City later in March.
