Former "Lumber Yard" Leveled
Now City Owned Property Had Been Lumber Yard / Plumbing & Hardware Shops
Former lumber yard buildings torn down (between Veterans Building and Jalapeno Grill)
... planned as future parking area for Veterans Building & Fair Grounds.
"Double Darling" leased the building and was making rennovations in the building when it was apparently determined the roof was not safe leading the city to tear down the building.
The "intersection" of the train tracks and Main Street is perhaps Collinsville's most changed: the Depot has been removed (1975); Crocker's Garage torn down (~1990, now donut shop); Farmers Co-op Grain Elevator torn down (2005, now Jalapeno Grill); only portions of the former I. K. Mitchell (then Lewis) Lumber Yard buildings remain (to north & east); Sale Barn / Clark's building torn down (2017, now Casey's) and now the Collinsville Lumber Yard buildings are gone (to south & west).
