Cherokee Storyteller

Robert Lewis, Cherokee Nation Storyteller and Professor at NSU Tahlequah, was telling his stories to this Collinsville High School class Thursday September 9th. He is also scheduled to speak at the Collinsville Upper Elementary Thursday Sept. 14th.

50th Wedding Anniversary For Bill & Yvette Wright

Bill and Yvette Wright celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 19, 2017, with family and friends at Tulsa's University Club Towers where they have resided almost as long as the building has existed. Bill is a former editor of "The Collinsville News" (where he was partner with his brother John Wright for several years in the 1950's). Bill was later owner/editor of "The Skiatook News" until July 1982. No one wanted to cut the fancy cake with a replica of the 1967 special edition of the Skiatook paper marking their wedding date 50 years ago. Pictured along with Bill & Yvette are Bill's children Kennan and Kimna (in 2017 and on the cake). Bill is a 1946 Collinsville High School graduate and was son of C. H. and Elizabeth Wright. Yvette (Robinson) was librarian at McClain HS in Tulsa when they wed.
