Coach / Mentor Wins Signed Baseball
CHS Coach Hamilton Hernandez
Collinsville Baseball Coach Hamilton Hernandez has won an autographed Roger Clemens baseball donated by the OKC Dodgers Foundation for the Coaches’ Mentoring Challenge, Team Oklahoma drawing.

Over 400 Oklahoma coaches joined Coaches Stoops and Gundy in the 2016 Coaches’ Mentoring Challenge, a coach-led, multi-state competition, to recruit new mentors for Oklahoma youths. Coaches as natural and group mentors realize the value of mentoring and also that many kids in their communities can benefit from local mentors. It’s a big deal! By this many coaches signing up to endorse the challenge, local mentoring in Oklahoma has had the most publicity ever. We are so appreciative.

A Note From My Brother --
"Mother's Eagle Eye"
Hi Ted....

The few years I worked with Mother at The News office have left lots of memories

One of the most significant is how tenacious she was about one last proof read before page one went to the plate-making process. I can still remember John Jackson twiddling his thumbs waiting (along with Dad and others) while she read every word on the front page.

So, please don't think I'm being too picky in noting the often-used "runner-ups" adjective. She would want it changed to "runners-up". H. R. Mills would have noted, amidst argument from Dad, that hyphenation of two adjectives was a frivolous correction.

Thanks for enduring. I really enjoy CvilleOK.com

Don Wasson (2/27/2017)

I don't mind at all and will try to cleanup my recent language mangling on cvilleok.
But what is really bothering me right now is not being able to edit and correct my Twitter and Instagram posts (short of deleting and starting over). Mostly due to tiny adjacent letters on my phone keyboard and the tiny display where typos are nearly impossible for my old eyes to spot ... compounded by the phone thinking it knows what I wanted to say rather than just sending what I typed. -- Ted
