10 Years Since Big Ice Storm
In 2007 Collinsville Was Covered In Ice And Powerless
It has now been a decade since Collinsville (and Northeast Oklahoma) woke the morning after the Christmas parade to a frozen winter wonderland of ice, broken trees and broken power lines. Most were without electricity for several days and some for weeks. Several more weeks were required to clean up the resulting mess of broken trees.
Looking back at ice storm photos from 10 years ago ... see that we still had a city swimming pool and an "S"-curve in Dec. 2007 (and East Main street was re-routed to Broadway while a new bridge was being built). -- Ted Wright -- Dec. 2017
