Chef and Berries At Herald Elementary
Herald Elementary students had a guest chef, learned a bit about healthy eating, and got to sample a variety of berries, fruit smoothies and homemade fruit rollups Friday February 26, 2016 during their lunch period. As part of the Chef Ann Cooper Grant for Herald Elementary they hosted Chef Mattie Sloan. She talked about berries and how they can strengthen your heart.
Collinsville School Director of Child Nutrition, Andrea Reser (left), and Chef Mattie Sloan handed out samples to the Herald students and also highlighted two recipes that are posted on the wellness page of the school website.
