Asphalt is finally
down and lane markings, arrows and crosswalks are still being painted
for a myraid of paths to get students to and from classes at 3 adjacent
buildings for pre-K through 5th grade (ECC-Herald-Upper Elementary). This
view (from 129th E. Ave) towards the new Collinsville Upper Elementary
(CUE) shows the southern-most exit to 129th and two entry lanes that come
off of 129th nearer Herald. The drop-off and pick-ups will be behind the
buildings to help draw traffic off of 129th that had experienced backups
in prior years with fewer students. I have requested a map/drawing to
give an overview of all the lanes and bus loops and hope to have that
online before classes begin. -- Ted Wright (7/27/2015) |

The "old"
bus loop that ran between Herald and ECC has been lenghtened and extends
to also service the northern end of the upper elementary. |
|
These two lanes run
south by the eastern side of the new Upper Elementary (with a large speed
bump) coming from behind Herald. |
|
All the bare construction
dirt will soon be covered by sod and the final pads for playground equipment
poured. |
|
|
4th
and 5th grade teachers did not get access to their classrooms to
start unloading boxes until July 20th. |
The
"Cardinal" tile leading into the upper elementary commons
was partially complete Friday July 24th. |
|
|
|
Workers are still
putting finishing touches on the new 4th-5th grade building with less
than 3 weeks before students are set to walk the halls (August 11th Meet
the Teacher Night and August 13th start of classes). |
