| Collinsville's 8th
graders (CHS 2019) toured the Tulsa Tech campus at Owasso Friday Jan.23,
2015. The relatively new facility is adjacent to Highway 169 a bit south
of 116th St. N. (between Collinsville and Owasso). These students were
invited to tour and see educational opportunities there now, before they
starting making course selections as CHS freshman next year. With a large
8th grade class (~218 total + their teachers) it took 4 buses (2 in the
morning and 2 in the afternoon) to make the short trip from the middle
school. Collinsville high school students that keep up their grades and
attendance can attend Tulsa Tech classes for free (including transportation)
here and at the other Tulsa Tech campuses. There is also a section of
the new building with TCC classrooms. |

| While touring with
the 8th graders, I spotted 5 CHS seniors who are already students at the
Owasso Tech campus (L-R) Colt Stevens, Stephanie Torbett, Chris Luby,
Jakeb Glaus, and Amanda Good. There are likely others I missed, but plan
to visit the other tech campuses soon with the yearbook staff for additional

This December 2011 photo (from Highway 169) shows the Owasso facility
still under construction.
I believe the first classes were held there starting in August 2013.

Friday Status:
I've yet to make any progress today on the Thursday wrestling
photo pages as I've instead made two trips to the Tulsa Tech Owasso
Campus today with Collinsville 8th graders ... and have an email
inbox full of other news (including teachers of the year) I'll
add to the backlog and try to work off this weekend. -- Ted --

pages in past few weeks, but have months more work to do before
they go online in May 2015. The Owasso Tech trips will produce
a few photos for next week ... but most are an investment in CHS
