| The Oklahoma Eagles
have recently completed their summer season with several championships
under their belt. In the 8 tournaments, Eagles places 1st in 6, undefeated
in the USAO College Showcase round-robin, and runners-up in the Texas
USSSA National Tournament Gold (winners) bracket. The Oklahoma Eagles
are compiled of 11 Collinsville Cardinals and 1 player from Adair. The
Eagles pitching circle was maintained by both Asthon Friend- Collinsville,
and Megan Johnson- Adair, both talented and detrimental to the success
of the season. Both pitchers have so much talent as they are entering
their junior seasons and are fun to watch. They pitch with intensity and
control and know they have one of the best defenses in the state behind
them. Behind the pitchers, are infielders Rylee DeLozier- 3rd baseman,
Makayla Bowman- Short stop, Ravyn Murphy- 2nd baseman, Brittany Kickapoo-
1st baseman, and Darci Chester- Catcher. Outfielders include Mackenzie
Scott, Cadyn Haddock, Becky Smith, Payton Benham, and Sydnie McClelland.
This strong defense has an advantage because they are used to playing
with each other during the school ball season as well. The Eagles also
have an equally strong offense as they had a team total of 26 home runs,
and outsourced their opponents 371-71. They have a majority lineup of
power hitters, and consistent base hitters and short gamers with great
speed. Most travel teams in the summer have an advantage of compiling teams made from players that tryout, and come from several different schools nearby. These club and travel teams are hand picked. The Eagles however are just majority Collinsville girls and one from Adair, just raw talent, no tryouts needed. These girls will be exciting to watch in the upcoming season for the Collinsville Cardinals, and to follow Megan Johnson on the mound for Adair High School. The Eagles will be doing a "5K Turkey Run" fundraiser in Collinsville in November to help with the costs of their next and final season.
