The Collinsville
High School Academic Team swept the District Seeding tournament at Nathan
Hale last night (10/13) and will be seeded
No. 1 as they advance to Area play. Led by Captain Cannon
Vogel, the team averaged 215 points per game. Freshman Caden Weathers,
averaging 15 pts/quarter, and junior Dylan Bayouth, averaging 10 pts/quarter,
offered strong support for senior Cannon Vogel’s average of 55
pts/quarter. Additional team members are Lyndee Branen, Jordan Carney,
Sydney Vogel, Daniel Wilson, Devyn Lyon, Kaylyn Branen, Rosa Gorham,
and Rachel Hadley. With a current record of 15 and 2, the team will continue conference play next week with home games against Sperry, Oologah, and Locust Grove on Tuesday, Oct 21. Collinsville will host the OSSAA Area Tournament on January 17 and play for a spot in the State Tournament. -- Betty L. Gowler (Academic Team Coach) -- 10/14/2014 |
