Several Collinsville FFA Members have decided they are going to participate in Operation Christmas Child this holiday season. Operation Christmas Child sends shoe box sized boxes of much needed gifts such as blankets, school supplies, and more to children in need. CHS Playoff Football Starts Here Friday

Don't Be Late: A 7pm start time has been agreed to by Collinsville & Memorial Coaches and OK'd by OSSAA (ignore some early bracket releases which may still say 7:30)
Only OSSAA passes accepted ... even season tickets holders will need to buy a ticket ... but their inside the gate parking and seat locations will be honored. Check back for when tickets will be available this week at the high school. (see update below bracket)
The Playoff game on Friday at Sallee Field vs Tulsa Memorial is a OSSAA sanctioned event. The only passes allowed are the OSSAA Playoff passes. Everyone else must buy a ticket. Collinsville season ticket holders will be allowed to park inside providing you have your parking pass visable to the gatekeepers. Season ticket holders will have to purchase a ticket but will be allowed to sit in their season ticket seats. Tickets can be purchased at the gate as you enter or at the HS starting Tuesday afternoon in the attendence office. Our game's starting time has been changed to 7:00. -- Jim Riley 11/10/2014

Robin Pontiff Is First Turkey Winner
Collinsville Downtown, Inc. is excited to announce the winner of the first ever Turkey Tracker Medallion Hunt for the month of November. Robin Pontiff of Collinsville, was the first lay her hands on the hidden treasure and retrieved it from the Collinsville Library on Friday morning about 7:00 a.m. She delivered it to the Times Star office shortly after 9:00 a.m. when they opened for business. Collinsville Downtown, Inc. President, Sherry Campbell was on hand to present the frozen turkey, which was donated by promotion partner JB’s Market.

Would be sleuths need not worry, the promotion continues throughout the month of November and another medallion will be hidden next week with clues appearing in the next issue of the Times Star. -- Sherry Campbell (11/9/2014)

Follow these simple step by step instructions to set up the app so that you can start receiving important notifications from the district or from your child’s school, teacher, coach or club sponsor.
Download the new school app called SchoolWay on any smart device
Search for it in the App Store or Google Play
After you download it be sure to allow it to send you push notifications. For iphone users you may need to go to your phone settings to allow them for this specific app. You can do this after you set up the app.
Next you will be prompted to register now or choose later. You do not ever have to register so just choose maybe later.
Now choose your role and save and continue.
Next choose the State and the District Collinsville and save. You will only have to go through these steps once.
Now turn on all notifications that apply to you by clicking the white button to the left of each school and turning it green.
If your child’s coach, teacher, or club sponsor has an individual page set up then search for them under courses, clubs, groups or athletics and turn on notifications for them.
You will now be able to receive important information that is sent out by the district, your child’s school, teacher or coach.
This app will not replace messages sent out by the school messenger. These messages will pertain more to activities, fundraisers, field trips, athletic notices, class projects etc.

2014 SOSU Native American Excellence in Education
Project Teacher Education Grant
Deadline to apply is November 17, 2014

Southeastern Oklahoma State University Native American Excellence in Education Project seeks Early Childhood or Special Education majors to apply for funding beginning January 2015 through the completion of their pre-service education program. The grant provides tuition, fee and book assistance, a living stipend, child-care assistance stipend, a new lap-top and certification test fee coverage. Click here to access the flyer.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:enrolled as a full-time student,GPA of at least 2.5,Native American, andcompleted 45 credit hours prior to the Spring 2015 semester.Note: students seeking Alternative Certification will not be considered. The grant has a payback component, which requires participants to teach in a school with a significant Indian population equivalent to the length of time that benefits were received.
