The Freshmen boys basketball team beat Claremore in the finals of the Metro Lakes Conference tournament 46-32 with Seth Boomer leading the way with 26 points!! The 7th graders placed 3rd by also beating Claremore. The 8th graders made a miraculous comeback in the consolation bracket against Skiatook coming back from a 6-28 deficit to win by four, but lost in the consolation finals. -- Ron Evans 2/16/2014
The 9th grade girls did not play in the conference tournament. Since they are also all Varsity Members they have played in the allotted 3 tournaments per year. We are undefeated in conference play and are the conference champs. -- Susie Vaughn 2/19/2014
The CHS Basketball Lady Cardinals are now officially the Metro Lakes conference champs! The entire team consisting of 5 Juniors and 8 Freshmen have been conference champs every year since 7th grade! Impressive ladies! -- Missy DeLozier Feb. 18, 2014 Facebook Post (from Tahlequah)

After starting the season at 3-5, the girls were able to win 7 in a row, before the last 2 heartbreaking loses. The Pryor game we had a good look from 6 feet out with 4 seconds left. In the Grove game, a Grove player picked up a loose ball at the 3 point line and made the 3 pointer at the buzzer.

Record 10-7

Letter From Coach Ryan Christian
Just a short note about 7th & 9th Grade Boys Basketball
First wanted to thank Coach Anderson for allowing me to coach in his program. I have learned a lot from him in the past two seasons. Wanted to let you know how both teams finished up.
The 7th grade boys had a successful season finishing with a 12-5 record and a 3rd place finish in the conference tournament. They missing out being in the finals by one point. I am extremely proud of these young men. They competed hard for me every night,
The ninth grade boys ended their season with another tournament championship, the other coming as 7th graders and a runner-up finish as 8th graders. They finish up with a record of 11-4. I am thankful for the opportunity to coach these young men. They work extremely hard and deserve all the credit for their success.
-- Thanks, Coach Christian (2/16/2014)
