Miss Oklahoma Visited Collinsville High School April 9th
Pre-Prom Message of Common Sense on Alcohol, Drugs, and Bullying .. Sponsored by the Collinsville SWAT organization (Students Working Against Tobacco).
Kelsey Griswold (2013 Miss Oklahoma) visited with the students at Collinsville High School Tuesday morning. She talked about hardships in her life, poor choices she had made, and friends who had died due to poor choices. She acknowledged that many high school students believe such messages "don't apply" to them but asked that they be respectful to the few that might be willing to listen to her message. She also sang for the CHS students as she winds down her year with a new Miss Oklahoma to be named in June. She mentioned that she had attended a Miss Collinsville Pageant in this gym (which I would guess might be the Oct 2007 pageant? or Nov. 2008 as it moved from the gym after that). -- Ted
