Baylee Eigenheer

Sixteen members of the Collinsville GFWC Home Representative Club started the new official year of duties, Sept. 3, 2013 at the Community Church. Speaker for the meeting was the 2013 HOBY winning Sophomore, Baylee Eigenheer. With the aid of a power point presentation, she explained how important the youth seminar was in helping to shape her future ambitions, and she looks forward to attending next year as a guidance representative for the 2014 winners.

Hillcat Cross Country Opens Season at UCO Land Run
September 7, 2013

EDMOND, Okla.-The Rogers State women’s and men’s cross country teams opened the 2013 season with a second and sixth place finish respectively at the UCO Land Run in Edmond, Okla.

The RSU women tallied the second place finish with 71 total team points. Former Sooner Athletic Conference foe, Oklahoma Baptist took the top spot with 31 points. The Lady Bison are currently ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Top 25 poll. The Hillcats finished in front of meet host Central Oklahoma who finished third with
78 points. The Hillcats finished in front of current Heartland Conference foes Oklahoma Christian who finished fifth and University of Arkansas Fort Smith in sixth.

Haley Taylor and Maria Apolinar paced the Hillcats in the 5K event. Taylor tallied a fifth place finish with a time of 19:46.91 while Apolinar registered a 10th place finish with a time of 19:59.07.

Freshman Olivia Jalomo and Andi Gourd followed with a 14th and 16th place finish respectively. Jalomo finished with a time of 20:13.18 and Gourd crossed the finish line with a time of 20:15.75. Sophomore Christi Dougherty rounded out the top five with a time of 20:58.87 in 32nd.

Freshman Baylor Harvey paced the Hillcat men in the four-mile run in 20th with a time of 21:50.66. Marchez Coriz followed with a 25th place finish in 22:00.99. Sophomore Chandler Smith finished 33rd with a time of 22:27.28 and Brandon Payne came in 35th with a time of 22:33.15. Dyson Garrett rounded out the top five with a 40th place finish in 22:46.53.

Oklahoma City University tallied the top spot with 31 total points while Oklahoma Baptist came in second with 51 points.

Rogers State will return to action on September 21 as the Hillcats travel to Joplin, Mo. for the Southern Stampede.
