Healthy Community Grants For City |
FYI....wanted you
all to know about the healthy communities designation and grant. Cville
was awarded the excellence category for our work in trying to make the
city a healthier place. Thanks to you all for helping make that happen.

Polk (Collinsville City Manager) From: Pamela Polk Sent: Thursday, May 09, 2013 11:13 PM Subject: Grant Awards Thought I would let you all know that the city was successful in obtaining a CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) in the amount of $64,260. These funds will be used to help with drainage and street improvements in the post office vicinity. I received word
today that we were also successful in our efforts for a $20,000 grant
from the State Health Dept for healthy communities. The funds will be
used for further improvements to the park such as some additional lighting

FCA All-State Awards For Roensch & West |
David Roensch and
Hunter West received the Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-State Award.
They were nominated by Coach Boomer, their FCA Huddle Coach. The guest
speaker at the FCA Awards Banquet was Bill Bajema, former OSU football
player, and #86 for the 2013 Super Bowl Champions, the Baltimore Ravens.

The Collinsville Home Representative Club met May 7 at the home of Anita Mitchell, for the final gathering of the 2012-2013 club year. Thirteen members were in attendance, plus guests Ellen Mitchell and William from Washington, D.C., and Ellen's father from Nottingham, England. Final year-end reports and summaries were given, and a two-year scrapbook of club activities was presented to out-going President Marsha Nachtigall. Alberta Bonebrake presided over the ceremony for installation of next year's officers: President Anita Mitchell, Vice President Louise Brazeal, Secretary Susan Pratt, Treasurer Jill Oliver, Journalist Linda Pfeffer, and Parliamentarian Margaret Waldorf. Members enjoyed
a salad supper, and the evening concluded with the opening of gifts
from Secret Sisters. |
