Hyatt Appliances Moving East & Expanding
Darren Hyatt (2nd from right) held a ground breaking ceremony at the future location for Hyatt Appliances. He was joined by (L-R) Susan Babbitt (Chamber President), Kyle Smalygo (Smalygo Properties) and Mayor Herb Weaver (right). Smalygo is the builder for a new building which will triple the space now available at the existing location at 11th & Broadway. The building will be similar to the Ray Haynes building south of the fire station. Hyatt estimated the new building would be avalable in the July 2013 timeframe.

The new property was purchased from Ray Haynes and the old property was purchased by the adjacent Nazarene Church. Darren indicated there would be two garage doors on the alley side (allowing indoor loading of appliances ... unlike the old location below). There will be a display area on the Broadway entrance side as well as a kitchen and work areas. The new location is just over a block east of the old location (with Pavey's Garage and NAPA Auto Parts in the background of the upper photo).
