| For
the first time this year the 2 time state wrestling champions
put their best team on the mat at the Jay Hancock Invitational
in Yukon. Injury and illness had kept various wrestlers out
of the lineup for every event until this weekend. The Cardinals
placed 11 wrestlers in the top 5 with 4 champions, 2 runner ups,
2 thirds, 2 4ths, and 1 5th. Collinsville was 24 points ahead
of second place Allen,TX in the team race and solidified their
claim to the # 1 team in the State of Oklahoma. Allen, TX placed
ahead of class 6A #1 Broken Arrow in at a tournament earlier this
year.Collinsville has placed ahead of Allen in 3 tournaments this
year. The Cardinals have finished ahead of class 3A #1 Perry in
2 tournaments and ahead of class 4A #1 Tuttle at the Mid-American

place first, Ryan Heiden and Will Steltzlen finished 2nd. Dylan

Cardinal wrestling team won 6 of 8 semi final matches to take
a slim lead over Allen, TX in the Yukon Wrestling tournament.
Christian Moody, Davion Jeffries, Ryan Heiden, Gary Wayne Harding,
Will Steltzlen and Zach Abkemeier moved into the finals with there
semi final wins. To 5 teams and score: Collinsville 207.5, Allen,TX
200, Ed North 190, Perry 147 and Muskogee 114. -- Jim Riley --

CHS Cardinal wrestling team beat Edison 63-3, Hale 65-12 and
East Central 54-18 to win their third straight district title
and stamp their ticket to the dual state tournament next month.

Cardinal Wrestling Team Won Mid
American Nationals
The Collinsville Wrestling team got word on Wednesday that there
were mistakes made in the official scoring of the tournament and
the Cardinals were the winners of the Mid American Nationals hosted
by Union High School. Union officials notified Cardinal Wrestling
Coach Weston Harding just days after his team had won the Kansas
City Stampede. That means the Collinsville Wrestlers have won
2 National level tournaments in the first two weeks of the season.
This is great news for our wrestling program. It could push the
Cardinals into the top 20 in the national ranking according to
USA Wrestling Mag. They were previously ranked 24. Its good to
