Blood Drive At CHS March 7th
STUCO will be hosting a Blood Drive on March 7 in the gym. Please consider donating blood and encourage your students to donate also. Here are a few guidelines:

* Donors must be at least 16 years of age with a signed permission slip (we will have these available next week)
* 17 and above do not need parental consent
* All donors must have a picture ID. If they do not have a drivers license or school ID then we can use a yearbook to verify
* Donors should come having had a good breakfast or lunch and well hydrated
* You cannot donate if you are on antibiotics or blood thinners

Teachers/adults will automatically be bumped to the head of the line, so it can be done during your plan if you come near the beginning of the period. Also, if you are willing, please offer some incentive (extra credit/homework pass/etc.) to students that donate. I will be glad to keep the records and send you a list. I also know some places give students incentives for having parents and community come to the drive and donate in their name (especially for underclassmen that may not be old enough). We would appreciate any ways you can encourage students to participate. Blood donation is a crucial community service!

Thanks! -- Lynn Gowler (2/21/2013)

Junior Achievement Investor Challenge
Collinsville High Sophmores Jake Douglass and Trystan Woodard were joined by Freshman Robert Underwood to form a very successful investment team at the most recent Junior Achievement Investor Challenge held at Tulsa Technology Center. Their team - Cardinals 2 - won their division of those starting with $500,000. Their 9.326% gain over the 60 simulated trading days placed them 4th out of 50 competing teams. Their performance topped teams from: Bixby High, Lincoln Academy, Augustine Christian Academy, Broken Arrow High, Regent Preparatory, Muskogee High, East Central and Sequoyah High among others.

Sincerely,
James L. Allison

I don't know if it is related to thier investment success, but I have photos for these 3 students because they are members of the CHS Wrestling team. -- Ted Wright
