Many of Collinsville's first quarter offensive trips ended with blocked shots or steals by East Central. The Lady Cards were down 0-8 before getting their first points on the board with 3:10 left in the 1st quarter. Offensively the 2nd quarter had only produced 2 points before a shot at the buzzer doubled that. The third quarted was more productive with a stretch of three 3-pointer in a row (which matched the entire first half total) finally making the match competitive at 22-28. The 3rd period ended 24-31. Collinsville then got within 5 with 4:15 left in the game (at 30-35) but couldn't finish the rally attempt. The taller talented East Central team earned their trip to State with the Thursday Area win. Collinsville will have one more try Saturday against Chickasha (at Sapulpa). -- Ted Wright
