A "brick" covered cake was shared by visitors to Collinsvile City Hall Thursday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic brick building that has housed city ofices starting in December 1913. A December 2001 fire kept city staff away from the building until rennovations were completed in Jan. 2006.
Many former Collinsville Mayors were invited back to City Hall for the open house (during the early hours of the snow that slowed the city/schools for a few days). Former Mayor Don Tucker (right) was sharing some interesting stories from his late 1980's terms with current City Manager Pam Polk (left) during my brief stop at the 1 to 5pm Dec. 5th open house. -- Ted Wright 12/13/2013

These horses (that used to pull the fire department's wagons) lived in the new City Hall until about 1916 when a new mechanized firetruck was purchased. Prior to the 2001 fire, City Hall housed the fire and police departments in addition to the city administrative staff.
