T.J. Johnson caught this pass at about the 3 yard line then drug the Sequoyah defender into the endzone.
Jarrod Shearer (right) was here as a Nowata coach but also had the opportunity to visit with his former CHS coaches and watch his brother scrimmage against the Sequoyah freshman.
The Cardinal 9th grade looked unstoppable against Sequoyah ... scoring early and often.
The 7th graders started at 4pm and had likely the highest temperatures.
Hayden West scored on a long touchdown run -vs- Sequoyah.
I managed to get most of the manager / trainers for all the teams together between scrimmages. Megan Royall wasn't in this photo as she spent most of the day filling large water containers and delivering them to both benches. -- Ted

CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- Jr. High Update -- 8-30-13

The Collinsville Cardinals 7th, 8th, and 9th grade teams competed against the Claremore Sequoyah Eagles last Thursday night at Sallee Field under extreme heat and high humidity conditions. Temperatures on the Sallee turf were 115 degrees at one time during the event. Players from both schools seemed to handle the heat fairly well. There was a lot of good football played with both offensive fire power and defensive efforts through the night. Coaches from each school got a chance to see all players compete in the hour long slugfest. No Injuries were reported.

With the Labor Day weekend behind us it is time to focus on the Grove Ridgerunners this Thursday night (Sept. 5th). We travel to Grove and will play at Grove High School. Game time for the 7th grade is 5pm with each grade to follow immediately after the previous game.

7th and 8th grade players will report to the dressing room immediately school on Thursday. 9th grade players will report to the dressing room by 3:30. Players should bring a sack lunch to eat on the bus. After the game the QB Club will have a snack for the players. The 7th and 8th grade should be back to the dressing room around 9:30. 9th grade should return around 11pm. Players may ride home with his parents only.

We just completed our first eligibility report. We have a few players on probation. Please monitor your son’s homework assignments. Zeros on homework assignments is the number one reason for failing. A student must pass ALL classes during the semester to be eligible to compete. This is an OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activity Association) rule.

Hope to see you at Grove. It’s great to be a Cardinal!
