Speed Check On Main Street
The City of Collinsville borrowed a speed indicator device from the City of Owasso this past week to help show folks driving east on Main Street (near 19th Street) just how fast they were traveling. No surprise, but it took me just a few minutes Monday to catch a photo of someone with a 47mph reading in our 25mph section of Highway 20. The city had recently discussed an ODOT study with the same result: that the average measured speeds on Main Street were well above the posted limit. The middle school crosswalks just a few blocks east of this area are a concern raised by city official in not acting on ODOT's recommendation to raise the limit.

Gary Olivier (#14) with this 2-run double was part of an 8-1 first inning start for the Cardinals.
Clint Smith (#5) and Craig Blevins (#2) scored on Olivier's 1st inning double.
Marcus Tillman (#9) singled and later scored on a Tyler Sherwood double in the first inning.
BTW roared back with 5 runs of their own in the 2nd inning to narrow the score to 8-6.
A. J. Austin (#15) with a pop-up catch in foul territory behind first base in the 4th. Collinsville was ahead 9-6 after 5 innings when I left to resume work on senior pages. -- Ted.
