The 2012 track season is officially over and what a successful one it was! May 11 and 12th, the high school Cardinals competed at the state meet in Yukon, Ok. In all 17 members of the boys and girls teams qualified for the meet. Though not all members received medals, all members competed very hard and ended their season on positive notes. To see our athletes succeed as they did is even more exciting when you understand the youth of our team. Of the 17 cardinals competing at state only 4 were seniors. This year’s seniors provided much needed leadership and work ethics and will be missed.

Receiving medals at state were: Jake Barton - Pole Vault 5th, Haley Taylor - 3200m run 2nd, 1600m run 4th, Corey Lenhart - 3200m run 4th, 1600m run 6th, and Celina Kirschner - Long Jump 4th.

To wind the season up, the Collinsville Track Coaches would like to thank all administrators, teachers, parents, and athletes for another successful year due to all your hard work and dedication to helping us have the outstanding program we do!

From Jim Riley: Haley Taylor finished second and Coree Lenhart finished fourth in the 3200 meter run in the 5A State Track Meet. Celina Kirschner finished 4th in the Class 5A State Track meet in Yukon with a Jump of 16'9" Haley Taylor placed 4th and Coree Lenhart placed 6th in the 1600 meter run in the Class 5A State Track meet. Jake Barton placed 5th in the pole vault in the Class 5A state track meet in Yukon.
