Premiering for Destination Claremore, FLIPSIDE: the Patti Page Story |
Claremore native Clara Ann Fowlers, famously known as the Singing Rage Miss Patti Page, life story is coming to her hometown. FLIPSIDE: The Patti Page Story premiers during the 3rd Annual Destination Claremore, coming April 27-May 5. Written and produced by Greg White, producer of UCOs Broadway Tonight, this musical is a tribute to the highest recording female artists in the 1950s. Fowler, born in Claremore, became Patti Page when she was featured on Tulsas KTUL radio station representing the Page Milk Company. Her career skyrocketed with her popularity. In addition to her sweeping musical career, Page was featured on all three major networks with her many television appearances. We are thrilled to celebrate this years Destination Claremore with such an outstanding performance about one of our own legends, said Tanya Andrews, executive director, Claremore Convention & Visitors Bureau. The musical portrays Pattis life, through the good times and bad, as well as her struggles and triumphs. It is so important, especially for our younger residents, to understand what this Claremore native has done for the entertainment industry, for her hometown, and for her home state. FLIPSIDE will premier May 3 during at matinee at 4pm, at the Robson Performing Arts Center; and again on May 4 at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Robson PAC or online at www.myticketoffice.com. Group rates are also available for a group of 10 or more; these are handled only at the Robson PAC. Destination Claremore kicks off April 27 and runs through May 5, with events taking place daily. This year will be exceptional with popular events like Taste of Claremore, American Cowboys Traders Days, Wooly Weekend, Route 66 Cruise-In, Lilac Festival, Antiques & Craft Show, Derby Day and the Dog Iron Poker Run all returning. New this year is the meet-n-greet and book signing with famous author Michael Wallis, April 30 at the JM Davis Arms & Historical Museum; and Derby Hats & High Tea at the Belvidere Mansion. Presenting sponsors are RCB Bank, Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs, and with the assistance of the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Robson PAC and BancFirst are the Heritage Sponsors, and TTCU is a Conversations Sponsor. The full event is hosted and coordinated by the Claremore Convention & Visitors Bureau. Most events during Destination week are free; however, there are a few ticketed events. Tickets are on sale for FLIPSIDE: the Patti Page Story and can be purchased by calling the Robson PAC at 918-699-7390, or online at www.myticketoffice.com; Taste of Claremore tickets will be available for purchase through the Claremore Convention and Visitors Bureau, starting April 2; and tickets for the Meet-n-Greet with Michael Wallis will be available at the JM Davis Arms & Historical Museum also on April 2. |
