CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- Jr. HI Update
Spring 2012

Spring is just around the corner. We have just completed our winter sports schedules and we have several congratulations to pass on. Our 7th grade boys’ basketball team dominated the Metro Lakes Conference schedule and captured another conference title. Our Jr. High wrestling team wrapped up the Metro Lakes Wrestling title along with several other individual regional and state medalists. Also our high school wrestlers had another tremendous season, back to back Dual and Individual State Titles.
Our football athletes, whom have been in off-season, have made great strides in the weight room. They have become bigger, faster and stronger.
Our classroom performance seems to be outstanding, thanks to the efforts of our terrific faculty and support staff.
Many of our athletes at this time are going into spring sports. We have over 85 male track athletes with 2 coaches, and many other athletes participating in baseball and club soccer. I don’t know for sure how many female athletes are in track, but the bus is full every afternoon when it pulls up to the track.
Don’t forget we have a “Pie Auction” Monday night, 6:30 in the high school commons. Donations go to the Boys and Girls Track Teams.
This time of year students have a tendency to let their grade slip down. Please use parent portal to stay up with their assignments. We as coaches try our best to be in touch with their grades but with so many it sometimes is difficult to track each of them.
Our Summer Pride schedule will be released sometime after spring break. We plan to have some spring football drills after track season.
If you have any questions, Please give me a call.

If You Have Diabetes…You Might Need Hepatitis B Vaccination

A new recommendation from the ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) advises adults aged 19-59 with diabetes to be vaccinated against the Hepatitis B virus. (See the full report here: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6050a4.htm) Hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with blood and body fluids. In 1991, this vaccine was made part of routine childhood vaccinations. Newborns generally receive their first vaccine on the day of birth and complete the series of 3 doses within their first 6 months of life. If you did not receive a childhood vaccination series and are ages 19-59 with diabetes, ask your doctor about your risk. The Hepatitis B vaccine is available at all Tulsa Health Department locations, for a fee. In Collinsville, call 918 596 8650 for more information.
