Home Depot Adopts
Wilson Elementary Playground (& Garden) |
I am going to forward
you some pictures of Home Depot employees who volunteered their time to
come and clean up the playgrounds at Wilson. Our playgrounds have small
pebbles that have covered the concreted area, which causes several injuries
a week. I mentioned this to the manager, Mike Algerio, and he offered
to adopt Wilson and make improvements. Over the next few weeks they are
going to remove the gravel and put in rubber mulch, they painted the basketball
goals and are putting in nets. They are going to paint hopscotch forms
on the concrete. On the other playground they donated soil and are going
to build raised gardens so the first grade teacher can have a "living
garden" to teach science in the classroom. Thanks for being our voice
and letting the community know what great people there are at Home Depot!
