All Thumbs Knitters (June Meeting)
Glynda Hairston shows her knitted baby hat and matching booties.
Due to the current Smithsonian Exhibit at the Collinsville Library, the June 20 meeting for the All Thumbs Knitters was held at the Owasso Library . Local business woman and fellow knitter Debbie Norton joined the group, and announced plans are underway for her proposed yarn store in the Owasso area - music to the ears of area knitters!
Several members were present and enjoyed a huge yarn giveaway (also called "stash cleaning!"). Door prizes were quilted needle pouches with zippered pockets. Several Show and Tell items were displayed, and knitted blankets were donated to Newborns In Need. Printed instructions were distributed, showing an invisible method of increasing a stitch.

The next meeting will also be at the Owasso Library, on Thursday, July 5, 1 - 3 PM.

Former Resident On Oregon Radio / 62-63 CHS Reunion
Ted, This is just a bit of news for residents of Collinsville. My son Shannon Heaps (Chris Kelly) had worked for Cox Radio for over 20 years. He is a graduate of Collinsville High School. Recently he moved to Portland, Oregon to be the Program Director for "The Fish", a Christian Radio Station. His family will follow him soon and we all miss him but; are very grateful for his talent and the opportunity he has been given. The technology we have enables us to "Skype" so we talk often.

Also I would like to report that the classes of 1962 and 1963 are having a class reunion July 7 and 8. We are meeting at The Post Oak Lodge. If anyone was not contacted, the can call Delbert Heaps at 918-371-2408.
It will be the 50th class reunion for the 62' class.

Thanks, Wanda Heaps
