Ted - Late Friday night at Cushing, the young Cardinal Wresting team had only lost two matches among the team. Collinsville has put 10 out of 12 wrestlers in the Semi-finals set for Saturday morning. Out of 33 teams attending the tournament, Collinsville is in the lead with a pretty good lead. Senior Isaac Dyer, lost a tough match early, but has won two since and is in a good position to be in the consolations finals. Freshman, Jake Douglass won his first one and then lost his second to a top seed kid. Jake drops down to the consolations and will be batting for the opportunity to take 3rd. Those in the semi-finals are, Jeffries at 106, Moody at 113, Wyatt at 120, Harding at 126, Helm at 134, Steltzen at 138, Abkmiar at 152, Barton at 160, Patton at 170, and Pritty at 195. Tournament starts Saturday morning at 11:00 am for any of those who want to come out and watch some exciting Cardinal Wrestling.

The Wrestling Cardinals won the Cushing Tournament this past weekend. Placing 7 in the Championship finals the Cards put the team race away after the morning round. The medal round was not too kind to the Cardinals. Only 3 wins in 10 matches. Davion Jeffries and Dylan Helm won in the finals and Keenan Priddy won his 3rd place match. Perry was 2nd and Cushing was 3rd in the team race.

Cardinals put 7 in finals of Cushing Wrestling Tournament. Davion Jeffries, Christian Moody, Wyatt Jordan, Gary Wayne Harding, Dylan Helm, Will Steltzlen and Jacob Barton won their semi final matches and the Cardinal jumped to a huge lead in the team race at Cushing. The Cards had 10 wrestlers in the semi final round. Zach Abkemierer, Grant Patton and Keenan Priddy lost their bid for a spot in the Championship finals Sat night. Finals are scheduled for 5:00 on Sat. -- Jim Riley (1/7/2012)
The Collinsville Varsity Wrestling team welcomed in 2012 by beating Sperry 72-0 and Coweta 52-12 at Coweta on Tues. The JH Wrestling Team beat Sperry 40-36 and tied Coweta 33-33. -- Jim Riley 1/3/2012
Collinsville Beats Neosho On Tiebreaker Criteria. -- The Collinsville Wrestling Cardinals traveled to Neosho, Mizzo to take on the 4 time defending Mizzo State Champs with revenge on their minds. Neosho beat Collinsville 56-15 in the first match of the year last year. This year the Cardinals expected a different result. After all 14 matches were wrestled the score was tied 27-27. Neosho's 152 pounder was ejected and that's the 1st criteria in the tiebreaker. So Collinsville won 28-27. -- Jim Riley (Tues. Dec. 13, 2011)

The Cardinal Wrestling team made a strong showing in their first outing of the year by placing 9 in the Mid-America Nationals at Union. Davion Jeffries and Gary Wayne Harding placed 1st while Dylan Helm and Zach Abkemier finished 2nd. Will Steltzlen placed 4th, Jacob Findley finished 5th. Jacob Barton and Kennon Priddy placed 6th and Christian Moody finished 7th. The Cards finished 4th in the team race behind Union, Tuttle and Allen,Tx. The Cardinal will travel to Neosho, Missouri on Tues for a dual and then on to Kansas City for a torunament the 16th and 17th. -- Jim Riley (12/11/2011)
The Cardinal Wrestling team put 4 in the finals at the Mid-America Nationals at Union's UMAC. Davion Jeffries, Gary Wayne Harding, Dylan Helm and Zach Abkemier all won their semi final matches to earn a shot at winning a Mid-America National Championship Sat night at 6:00. -- Jim Riley (Saturday 12/10/2011)
The Cardinal Wrestling team kicked off the 2011-12 season by pushing 7 wrestling into the semi finals of the Mid-America Nationals at Union's UMAC arena in Tulsa. Making it to the semi's are; Davion Jeffries, Jacob Findley, Gary Wayne Harding, Dylan Helm, Will Steltzlen, Zach Abkemier, and Kennan Priddy. The semi's will be at 11:00 at Sat morning. -- Jim Riley 12/9/2011
