Apply Early- Please remind students that the FAFSA is available to fill out on January 1st of every year. Why should students apply early?
– Because some federal programs have limited funding and those programs are awarded first come first serve, based on the students eligibility.

Be pro-active – Encourage your students to be pro-active and always follow-up with the FA office. Why should students follow-up?
– Because the FAFSA is not the only process a student must complete, the financial office may require additional documentation before the student can be awarded.

Call for answers – This is the time to have your students build a relationship with their FA counselor. Why should students call their FA Counselor?
– Because their FA counselor is there to help, they understand that the financial aid process can be a little overwhelming the first time. We want to answer any questions your students may have to help make this process as seamless as possible.

The Home Representative Club (HRC) of Collinsville was very excited to host the 2nd annual President's Day Coloring Contest for students at Collinsville Wilson Elementary. HRC is a civic organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services. For over 50 years just some of the programs that HRC has implemented for the students of the Collinsville School system are:

* Sponsor the annual Mother/Daughter Senior Tea for CHS graduating senior girls
* Award a college scholarship to a Collinsville High School graduating senior;
* Sponsor an outstanding sophomore a weekend Leadership Conference for the Hugh O'brian Foundation; and
* Organize and donate Christmas baskets full of new toys, clothes and food gift certificates to children in the Collinsville school system from the Angel Tree.

The Home Representative Club would like to thank Bank of the Lakes of Collinsville for their generous donation of paper and for supplying crayons for students that were in need of them, Wilson elementary school staff, Cheryl Hunt, LeeAnn Due, Tina Schmauss and Kendra Salisbury for their cooperation and professionalism during this contest. The club would also like to thank the students and the teachers for their time and devotion to this project. The winners were announced at an Awards Assembly on Wednesday, February 22, 2012.
