Former Pastor of the Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle, Dr. and Mrs. Phelps spent 63 years in the ministry. Serving as pastor in 7 states. Was Field Evangelist with The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministries, and Founder and President of Crown Baptist Ministries. Dr. Phelps began his college days at Kansas City Bible College, then on to Baptist Bible College, in Springfield, Mo. Graduating in 1952.

His education continued as Adjunct Professor of Bible at: Garland Bible College, Garland, Texas, Landmark Baptist Bible College, Haines City, Florida. And served as Executive Vice President of Desert Baptist Bible College, in Gilbert Arizona.

In 1985 he earned a Ph.D. in Bible and Bible History.

Dr. and Mrs. Phelps were married August 17, 1951 in Newton, Kansas. They have sons Rick and wife Debbie Phelps of Claremore, Ok. They have son Wesley and wife Jessie, two daughters Samantha and Mallory of Owasso, Ok. Son, Daniel of Tulsa, Ok. – Randi and wife Vicki Phelps of Pasadena, Texas daughter Holly Williams. A son Jason Phelps and wife Katie of Spring. Texas and their daughter Lily. A daughter Kristi Gibb and husband Josh of Houston, Texas. – Ron and Nancy Phelps of Inola, Ok. They have daughter Nichole and husband Brian Potter of Claremore, Ok. And their daughter MeKentzi and a son on the way. And a daughter Shelbi Phelps of Inola, Ok.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, August, 18 at The Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle. At 10:00 a.m.
