Junior High CARDINAL FOOTBALL Update
October 13, 2011

Sallee Field was the place to be this past Thursday night as the Cardinal 7th, 8th, and 9th grade teams’ hosted Highway 20 rivalry Skiatook.
The Cardinal 7th grade team captured the Bulldogs bone, in a run away fashion. Speed, agility, strength, and hard hitting, were the assets the Cardinals displayed all night long. Collinsville wins 28-6. With the victory, the 7th grade captures the 5A Metro Lakes Conference Title. The 7th grade record improves to 6-0. No injuries were reported.
The 8th grade game was full of thrills and chills. The October Harvest Moon shinned brightly over Sallee Field as the contest turned into a game of slugfest and trickery. Both teams traded scores through the night. Collinsville took the lead with less than a minute in the game and seemed to have victory in hand. But, with just seconds on the clock, Skiatook ran a reverse pass for 42 yards to capture the 22-16 win. The 8th grade records falls to 4-2. One hopefully minor injury was reported.
The Cardinal 9th grade team has been plaqued by injuries all season. The players play with great effort. Many times players are asked to play out of position due to the lack of depth. The hustle on and off the field, hard work between whistles, show the coaches the players are determined to do their best. Skiatook wins 20-8. No injuries were reported.
You still have a chance to come out and observe the upcoming stars of tomorrow. The Cardinals close out the 2011 season and will host Oologah on October 25th. That’s a Tuesday. Game time begins at 5:00.
