Northern
Oklahoma College Womens Soccer
The Slipper Fits! Cinderella has made it to the dance. Northern has advanced to their first ever national tournament with a 2-1 win over Lewis and Clark College in the NJCAA District C Final. Megan Young started the scoring fifteen minutes into the game with what might have been the best goal of the year in the NJCAA. Megan took the ball in front of the Mavs own penalty area and dribbled nearly seventy yards through almost the entire Lewis and Clark team before scoring. The Trailblazers evened the score before the half with a long shot aided by a stong wind that went over Ashleigh Trainer's head for a goal. Northern took the lead for good early in the second half when Jade Ovendale headed in Natalie Swingle's corner kick. Tiffany Hale scored what looked like the game clinching goal late in the game, but she was called offsides and the goal was not allowed. Northern then held off a series of attacks from Lewis and Clark for the win. The Mavs record is now 13-4-1. Seven Mavs Selected to All Region Team Megan Young, Sophomore,
