Mr. & Mrs. Jack & Renee’ Smith of Collinsville are proud to announce the marriage of their daughters, Kara Suzanne Smith to Shawn Philip Nix of Jenks and Allyson Noelle Smith to Brett Kendrick Smith of Collinsville.
Kara & Shawn were united in marriage in at outdoor ceremony at the home of Mr. & Mrs. William Abernathy of Tulsa on April 9, 2011. Serving her sister as maid of honor was Allyson Smith and brother Clint Smith stood with the bride as well. Attending the groom was his brother, Jaime Nix and ring bearer was Ethan Philip Nix, son of the bride and groom.
The groom’s parents are Kristie & Kenyon Blunt and Mark & Stacy Nix, all of Tulsa.
Shawn is a 1998 graduate of Booker T. Washington and 2011 graduate of The University of Tulsa. Kara is a 2002 graduate of Collinsville High School. Shawn is employed as a petroleum engineer at Ram Energy and Kara is employed by First Bank and Trust. The couple resides in Jenks, Ok.
The outdoor wedding of Allyson and Brett was held May 21, 2011 at the home of the grooms’ parents Mr. & Mrs. Don & Lee Ann Smith of Collinsville. Serving as her sister’s matron of honor was Kara Nix. Attending bridesmaids were Leigh Flanary, Jayme Wisdom and Amber Mendez., Jr. Bridesmaid was Miss Piper Hand of Skiatook and Jadyn Whinery of Skiatook served as the flower girl. Kyle Smith served his brother as best man. Groomsmen included Jordan Stice, Tyler Chronister, and Zach Mendez. Ring bearer was Ethan Nix. Brothers of the bride and groom served as ushers, Dylan Smith and Clint Smith.
Grandparents are Mrs. Joyce Smith of Collinsville, Mrs. Carolyn Smith of Wichita, and Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth and Doris Stice of Parsons, KS.
Brett and Allyson are both 2005 graduates of Collinsville High School. Brett is a graduate from Oklahoma State with a degree in mechanical engineering. Allyson is a graduate from TCC with a degree in dental hygiene. Brett is employed with Conoco Phillips as an operations engineer and Allyson is a dental hygienist. The couple resides in Collinsville.
