Small planes and pedestrians had to be on the look-out for each other Saturday at the annual Collinsville Airman Acres Fly-in near 126thst North and Memorial. The grass air strip is always surrounded by homes and hangers, but the number of planes and people greatly increases on this day each year.
Planes lined the landing strip all day and flights slowed significantly during the noon bean & cornbread dinner.
My old high school buddy (Walter Lentz -- CHS 1970) offered me a flight for an aerial view of Airman Acres and Collinsville Saturday. Walter and his wife Cristy flew in from their home in Duncan, OK for the event. -- Ted Wright
