WWAH Pet of the Week:

Prissy

Prissy is an adult Yellow Lab/Retriever female who is spayed and up-to-date on shots. She is a really good girl who loves to play outside. Prissy's story is a sad one: She was kept by a disgraceful breeder in a cage and then left with her friend Mammoth in an abandoned house where they lived without food, water, or cleaning for possibly weeks. We rescued both Prissy and Mammoth from being euthanized and nursed them back to health. However, as there were poorly treated by their owner, they are not very friendly with other cats or dogs, nor small children. They are not mean to adults, but they need someone willing to train them how to be pets instead of caged breeder dogs. If you are that someone, please call us at 371-1009 or email us at information@wwahonline.org. Prissy and Mammoth may not have long to wait so please hurry! They DO NOT have to go to a home together, they do just fine apart from each other!

Wilson Elementary Pie In The Face

Lee Ann Due (left) and Cheryl Hunt (right)

Wilson Elementary's principal and counselor each took a pie in the face Tuesday (March 23, 2010) to show their appreciation to the first & second graders and their parents (& the rest of the community) for their record setting performance at the March 9th McTeacher's fundraising event. They raised $3238 at McDonald's McTeacher night. Mrs. Hunt had promised she would take a pie in the face if her school could top the previous local McDonalds fund raising mark of just over $3000.

Two lucky 1st graders and two 2nd graders represented their classes with the honor of tossing the soft creamy pies while the other delighted students watched.

RSU Radio Begins Spring
Baseball and Softball Coverage

The Rogers State baseball and softball teams return to the radio waves just in time for spring and the stretch run of the 2010 regular season.

RSU Radio will carry the majority of the remaining home schedule for both teams on the airwaves of KRSC-FM 91.3. Ryan Bradley, assistant athletic director for media relations and communications, returns to anchor the play-by-play duties for the baseball broadcasts while RSU senior Steve Braun will serve as the voice of the Softball Hillcats.

Four baseball and four softball dates highlight the slate of 15 games for the Hillcats, beginning with a Thursday evening tilt featuring the Softball Cats and fifth-ranked Lubbock Christian. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. (weather permitting) and the broadcast will begin at approximately 1:55 p.m.

Coach Ron Bradley’s baseball team has posted a 15-9 record through its first 24 games this spring. The first baseball broadcast is slated for Saturday afternoon against third-ranked Oklahoma City University. First pitch of the twin bill is set for 2 p.m.

The Softball Cats are off to a hot start at 19-5 under second-year head coach Mark Dicus. The high-powered RSU offense is among the nation’s best in scoring and home runs. The NAIA’s top two home run hitters, RSU’s Linsey Curtis and LCU’s Kim Frazier, will stand toe-to-toe during the first broadcast of the spring Thursday afternoon.

Fans can follow the Cats on their radio dial at 91.3 FM or on the internet at www.rsuhillcats.com. Postseason broadcasts will also be carried whenever possible.
