Loftin At International Finals Youth Rodeo In Shawenee
Ted,
Just a quick update on Josh. He is competing in the 2010 International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee, Oklahoma. It has 1,409 contestants from 31 states competing this year. He is competing as a member of the National Saddlery Team out of Oklahoma City. Josh rode Monday night and received a score of 70 in Bareback riding; putting him in 5th place after the first performance. He will ride again on Friday morning. Josh and Morgan will be competing in Wyoming next week at High School Nationals.
I have attached a few pics. The first one is of Josh and my grandson, Lane Loftin. The other one is a pic of Josh's back number for the IFYR.
Thanks,
Kim Loftin (7/13/2010)
CHS Summer Band Update

We hope you’ve had a fantastic summer so far. It’s amazing how quickly it goes by. Summer Band is right around the corner. Hopefully you have been practicing a little bit. The main things you should be focusing on are tone, and Segment One of the show. Memorization is essential to our success…the faster you get Segment One memorized, the easier it will be for you. Below is the summer band schedule. Attendance is mandatory.

*A new marcher is anyone who has never marched with the Collinsville Crimson Cadets before.

Here are a few tips about what to wear: light-colored clothing, shoes (absolutely no flip-flops or boots), shorts, sunglasses, hats, t-shirt. Bring a water bottle, and some sunscreen, it’s going to be warm. It would help to bring your instrument too, and music.

Here’s just a little information about the cruise. The cost for each person going is around $750, if you are taking the charter bus. If you are providing your own transportation, the cost is $565 per person. A down-payment of $200 per person will be due on August 6th (checks payable to Collinsville Band). A commitment letter will be given to you on the first day of summer band with detailed information. Please be discussing this with your parents, and have an idea of how many people will be going. The letter given to you will have exactly how much money you have in your account right now. Remember, this trip is not required.

The guard has been working hard all summer long, the music is finished, most of the drill is finished, and we’re excited about getting together again!!! We look forward to an incredible year, and making lasting memories. God bless you all.

Sincerely,
Collinsville Crimson Cadet Staff
