We are an active part of the communities we serve because they are the places we call home. The members we serve live, work and play in the lush rolling hills of northeastern Oklahoma.
Headquartered in Collinsville, Oklahoma, VVEC is a distribution electric cooperative. We provide electric service to residential, commercial and industrial consumers through more than 32,000 meters and more than 4,500 miles of electric line in portions of Nowata, Osage, Rogers, Tulsa and Washington counties.
Among
the 26 electric cooperatives operating in Oklahoma, VVEC is the third largest
based on the number of meters served by the co-op. Ninety-two employees cover
the Cooperatives more than 3,200-square mile service territory daily maintaining
the electric system and providing consumer-oriented service.

with LandPlan Consultants, Inc. -- no action taken ...
see summary below
4 Adjourn.
This notice and agenda was posted at Collinsville City Hall, 106 N. 12th Street, Collinsville, Oklahoma, on August 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
LandPlan
Consultants, Inc. (Keith Franklin and Barbara Tartar) presented the state
of the current (completed) park improvements and reviewed the masterplan for
additional potential park improvements. A sample of topics discussed (again
with no action taken) were: shelters (new -vs- repaired), community building(s),
shade features, additional lighting for security, 9-hole Frisbee golf course,
sand volleyball court, trails, additional paved parking, a small water feature,
landscaping the creek area, band shell, ampitheatre, road repairs, ...etc.
There
was not an exact dollar amount available at this meeting but it was estimated
there was about $100K from the under-budget existing improvements. It is likely
that a large portion of that amount would be used as "seed" money
for matching grants from "recretational" and "land & water
conservation" sources. Use of those grants (some in the 80/20% or 50/50%
matching levels) would require extra requirements to match ADA and other federal
requirements. Those grants applications would likely have to be completed
by the end of this year requiring decisions in the next few months on which
options to pursue and cost estimates.
