Linsey Curtis Hit Homerun #17
In RSU Softball Split With Oklahoma Baptist
Linsey Curtis' 4th inning homer was the only RSU run in a 1-3 first game loss April 6th to Oklahoma Baptist. In the second game Linsey doubled in a run in the 4th and later scored in a 4-3 RSU win. The second game took 8 innings at Shawnee Tuesday.
Cherokee Art & Creative Writing Winners
Wilson Elementary had two Cherokee Students win in their recent art contest. Elizabeth Thomas, first grade, Ms. Cornett's class, received first place with her acrylic painting of the legend Spearfinger. Dalton Wagoner, first grade, Mrs. Young's class placed second in acrylic painting of the legend Spearfinger.

Herald Elementary third grader, Yonah Tripp, Ms. Riggs class, won first place in the Creative Writing Contest, he wrote a poem titled "I Want To Play" using the Cherokee Syllabary.

These students will receive their monetary awards at the JOM Awards Ceremony to be held on May 12, 2010.

Elementary Cheerleading Signups & Clinic
It's that time again!!. Collinsville Elementary Cheerleading Signup's for girls going into 1st-6th grade.
We will be sending out cheer packets to the schools this week. There will be signups/clinic on Sat April 24th from 9am-11am at Sallee Football Field.

Trail of Tears Awards
Collinsville High School Seniors and Middle School Eighth Graders attended the Cherokee Nation Trail of Tears Awards of Excellence Ceremony and Luncheon on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Convention Center, Catoosa, Oklahoma.

Students receive this award if they are Cherokee Indian, have a 3.5 gpa or higher and have received awards in areas of citizenship, civic organizations, music, Indian cultural activities, art, school clubs office and athletics.

Senior students receiving awards were Jenifer Dyer, Lacie Cook, Amy Fry, Paige Delozier, Phillip McMullen, Jayce Crowder. Eighth grade students receiving awards were Buddy Fleming, Conner Crutchfield, Damia Collis, Keenan Hamilton, Lance Thompson, Max West, Rachel Griffin. Taylor Harness was on the list but did not attend.
