We are an active part of the communities we serve because they are the places we call home. The members we serve live, work and play in the lush rolling hills of northeastern Oklahoma.
Headquartered in Collinsville, Oklahoma, VVEC is a distribution electric cooperative. We provide electric service to residential, commercial and industrial consumers through more than 32,000 meters and more than 4,500 miles of electric line in portions of Nowata, Osage, Rogers, Tulsa and Washington counties.
Among
the 26 electric cooperatives operating in Oklahoma, VVEC is the third largest
based on the number of meters served by the co-op. Ninety-two employees cover
the Cooperatives more than 3,200-square mile service territory daily maintaining
the electric system and providing consumer-oriented service.

4. Discussion, consideration and possible
action on Cox Communications agreement. ---
no action was taken after a lengthy discussion but the city commissioners appeared
ready to allow approve (in the next week or so) a modified agreement to provide
digital TV, telephone and internet service in Collinsville. Most of the discussion
pertained to wording in the agreement and how it matched or differred from existing
city ageements with Community Cablevision (a voted franchise) and AT&T (not
a franchise). Cox is a cable company and will apparently be allowed in to Collinsville
without requiring another franchise vote by cictizens. Community Cablevision had
a representative at the meeting but did not offer a comment to the commission.
Leon
Fifer (right with Cox Communications) discussed followup actions for the next
agreement meeting (either Oct. 16th or 19th) as Cox is hoping to order material
by Oct. 16th.
5.
Adjournment.
