Re: Unauthorized Use of AS&Us Copyrighted Work
Dear Ted Wright:
I am writing regarding the infringing use by www.cvilleok.com
of Pentons copyrighted literary work in AS&U Magazine and to insist
that www.cvilleok.com immediately cease and desist from these activities in violation
of Pentons intellectual property rights in the copyrighted literary work.
Penton recently learned that www.cvilleok.com has, without authorization,
duplicated an article from AS&U and is distributing a copy of that article
on its website. www.cvilleok.com has no right to reproduce or distribute this
literary work without the permission of Penton.
If www.cvilleok.com wishes
to explore licensing the article from Penton, you should visit Penton Reprints
at http://www.pentonreprints.com. Since www.cvilleok.com has not negotiated a
license with Penton, www.cvilleok.coms unauthorized reproduction and distribution
of copyrighted literary work from AS&U constitutes copyright infringement
in violation of Pentons rights under Section 106 of the Copyright Act, 17
U.S.C. § 106. Based upon www.cvilleok.coms wrongful conduct, we hereby
demand that you immediately cease and desist from using our copyrighted work.
Please provide us with written assurances that such use will immediately cease
and desist. If we do not receive, within 10 days from the date hereof, such written
assurances, we will refer this matter to our General Counsel, Andrea Burner, who
will contact you directly in order to resolve this matter.
The demands
made herein shall not waive or prejudice any rights or remedies that Penton may
have in respect of the matters set forth herein, all of which rights and remedies
are expressly reserved.
If you have any questions, please feel free to
contact me directly at (913) 967-1736 or diane.mason@penton.com, or have your
attorney contact our General Counsel, Andrea Berner, at (212) 204-4295 or andrea.berner@penton.com.

Collinsville
residents that have been inside the new Early Childhood Center already knew how
beautiful, colorful and functional the local school is. Now architects and designers
and schools across the nation will get a glimpse at the award winning design.
The August 2008 issue of the American School & University magazine has photos
and an article (above) with the Collinsville ECC design by The Stacy Group winning
the top prize for design in the Pre-K /Early Childhood Education design category.
The Collinsville School Administration (& students & teachers) are quite
proud of their school and the recognition it has received.
Sorry:
I have been requested to remove the magazine story which had been copied on this
page (which was supplied by the school) per the letter now in it's place.
