Stephen Pitts: Soccer All-State

Stephen Pitts

2008 All-State
Soccer Forward
CHS Coach Schubert Soccer Report:
Thanks Ted! I did go to the All-State meeting, Stephen Pitts made All-state as a Forward! I think he is only the 3rd boy to make All-Sate for Soccer in Collinsville. George Tyler and Ethan Miller made the All-District Team. Emily Carothers made the All-District team for the girls. The boys travel to Booker T. Washington to play on Tuesday the 29th @ 8pm. If they play hard like they did against Shawnee, they will have a good chance to win. They ended the regular season with a 4-3 District record, a 4th seed, and an overall 7-4 Varsity record. They did receive Runner-up at the Stilwell Tournament. This was their second year for that tournament and didn't even place last year, so they played real good. The girls ended their season with a 4-9 overall record and a District record of 2-5. They lost a heart breaker to Shawnee that would have sent them to the playoffs with just 26 seconds left in game. They did well at the Stilwell tournament, they were Runner-up. They were 3rd last year in the tournament, so a good improvement and showing. They played hard in every game and never gave up. There were a few injuries that also plagued the season for the girls. All-in-all, a great year and steady improvement from previous years I think.
The Second Annual Collinsville Soccer Alumni Game will be Friday May 9th at the Collinsville Sportsplex due to the construction at Sallee. If there are any questions, people can call my cell at 381-9510. If you would pass that on that would be great.
Thanks Ted for your coverage! We appreciate you helping promote Collinsville School activities and for me, Soccer in particular. Thanks again! Justin Schubert (4/25/2008)
