The Collinsville Patchworkers met at the Library April 8 and enjoyed a video presentation by Peggy Hamilton of the recent Dallas Quilt Show. Birthday girl Chris Pierce won the fat quarters drawing, and Martha Strickland presented Attic Windows for the block of the month. The program was a collection of feedsack blocks and a discussion of the various patterns used in their creation. Flyers for the May 31 trunk show with Lena Mae Pippin of OK City will soon be available for distribution. The show is scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Library and is open to the public. Admission will be free.

Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven Helps New Jersey Girl Celebrate Her 13th Birthday
WWAH is on Petfinder.com and received an inquiry about our bichon terrier mixes. Our Birthday girl picked Poodleheart as her Birthday Present and will take a road trip with her family to come to Collinsville and pick up her puppy. She has decided to call her Maggie and sends us a countdown every day or so as to how many more days until her arrival in Green Country. Her mom said she had hoped to find a pup east of the Mississippi but they would come to Oklahoma for Maggie.
Collinsville, Oklahoma is gaining a great reputation in the world of no kill shelters. Since February 1, 2008 we have found homes for 39 puppies/dogs and 9 kittens/cats, 13 pets are in foster homes and we have 3 part time staff, and a great volunteer staff taking care of our office and the kennels.

Be sure to come out on Third Saturday, April 19, 2008, from noon to 3:00 and visit WWAH. 15628 N. 129th E. Ave.
We are planning Third Saturday events for each month.

Collinsville Library Happenings
Once again we have registered for the Abitibi Paper Recycling Contest at the Collinsville Library. Last year we earned $1,000 due to all the efforts of Collinsville citizens and friends from all over. We purchased a projector for the laptop we have ordered and will be able to use it for our programs as well as provide this service for groups using the library and the meeting room.
The contest runs from May 1- August 31. Last year we increased our tonnage from the year before by 40%....need to do the same this year for the $1,000. GAME IS ON!

Also, we now have WIFI at CV Library! Our budget for 2008-2009 has been submitted, they are surveying for our parking lot to the East of the Library, and Summer Reading Program is right around the corner!

It has been another great year for Collinsville Library and that is due to our fantastic customers.
