Fake Punt / Key Play
-- Collinsville started the 4th quarter with this fake on 4th & 1 from
their own 19 yard line. The Cards had a 14-7 lead and gambled with a direct
snap to an up back who picked up a first down. Most of the 4th quarter was
played in Cards territory.
Kevin
Phillips (#11) caught this 17 yard Lane Coulter pass on 4th down with 4:48 left
in the 1st quarter for Collinsville's 1st score on their 2nd possession.
Kevin
Phillips (#11) made a 1-handed interception of this Catoosa pass after it was
tipped by Dalton Rasmussen (#85). Kevin returned the ball 45 yards for Collinsville's
second touchdown with 5:17 left in the 3rd quarter. This broke a 7-7 tie (after
a Catoosa 50 yard TD run at 8:04 in the 2nd quarter).
Michael
Pitts crowned Homecoming Queen Mollie Colpitt in the pre-game coronation ceremony.
Rain stopped before the ceremony and held off until after the game completed.
Michael
Pitts (#51) partially blocked the first Catoosa punt and set the Cards up at
Catoosa's 36 yard line with 2:15 left in the 1st quarter. . The Cards failed
to pick up a first down and turned the ball back to Catoosa on downs. Catoosa
had already fumbled the initial Cardinal punt with Merin Oakley recovering to
set up the Cards at Catoosa's 47 for the first scoring drive.
I
couldn't tell who rushed the ball in real-time but guessing from the photo it
was either Kyle Rush (32) or Dalton Rasmussen (85)? -- Ted
The
Collinsville Crimson Cadet Band performed during the coronation ceremony (above)
and also marched at half-time sporting their new uniforms that arrived very
late in the marching season last year.
Members
of the CHS Class of 1977 attended the Friday night football game as part of
their reunion activities this weekend.
The
CHS Cheerleaders got some TV time on Channel 6 Friday night (along with a Jared
Billups interception shown during the sports).
I'm
not quite sure what the message was from several of the rabid Collinsville fans
... but I guess it worked? -- Ted
QB
Lane Coulter (#7) has just taken the snap from center Phillip Kolosha (#77)
in 4th quarter action as the Cards held onto a slim 7 point lead.
The
Cardinal defense came up big scoring a defensive touchdown and holding Catoosa
scoreless in 3 of the 4 quarters.
